CRESCENT TRELLIS

This classic trellis design comes from Victorian England, but it’s an example of a timeless pattern that has quite literally been on the walls for centuries—the diaper.

Originating here in Europe as a medieval weaving technique, this repetitive diamond pattern has appeared everywhere, from ancient heraldry and decorative Tudor brickwork to fashionable 19th-century Indian textiles and the Victorian Gothic Revival. A pattern design staple versatile across any interior.
