Two old wooden printing blocks picked up from a market stall in Singapore. One vibrant design rooted in the rich heritage of block printings home-continent and the country that transformed this craft into a cultural identity.
Elephants embodies the spirit of the Indian block printed textiles which made European offerings practically obsolete in the 16th and 17th centuries, and celebrates the old-world heritage of this traditional craft which went on to survive industrialisation and re-emerge as a living cultural heritage. It brings a blend of warmth and charm to an interior, enhanced by a wide palette born from the earthy pigments and vibrant produce which dominate India’s craft marketplace.

We recommend ordering one additional roll to cover future repairs or under the quoting quantity required. The paper is hand painted and the colours are mixed by hand and matched by eye which means the batches do vary slightly.
